Medicare Part B (Outpatient Medical)

Services covered are generally:

• Outpatient care for medically necessary services, and preventive services
• Ambulance services
• Durable medical equipment (DME)
• Medical testing and lab services

In 2023, costs associated with Part A are:

• Premium – $164.90 each month, depending on your income. The amount can change each year.
• Deductible – $226 for each inpatient hospital benefit period, before Original Medicare starts to pay.
• Inpatient hospital stay – $0 for days 1-60; $400 copayment per day for days 61-90; $800 copayment per day for days 91-150 while using your 60 lifetime reserve days; you pay all costs after day 150.
• Skilled nursing facility – $0 for days 1-20; $200 copayment per day for days 21-100; you pay all costs after day 101.
• Hospice care – $0 for covered hospice care services.
